Smithfield is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island, with roughly 21,200 residents. The town includes six villages that date back to the 19th century. The town itself was incorporated in 1731 and started as a small agricultural community. Today, Smithfield is mostly a quiet residential community, but the town has many activities and attractions that residents and visitors can enjoy.
